Upcoming Events at Lyme Regis Golf Club
The Jurassic Coast Choir
The Jurassic Coast Choir has evolved from the Lyme Regis Golf Club Choir formed in 2015 by enthusiastic members who wanted to join together to sing for fun. Regular concerts are held focussing on raising funds for local charities. We have currently over 30 members with a wide variety of musical and performing experience.
Rehearsals are weekly in Charmouth where we sing a variety of much loved songs. Our Choir Director is Anna Gregory who is a professional operatic soprano and voice coach who makes the whole experience educational, fun and hugely enjoyable. No prior experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and a commitment to attend our regular weekly 2-hour rehearsals.
The choir has recently gone from strength to strength having performed alongside Anna Gregory and Cameron Rolls, another local operatic singer, in Uplyme Church in December 2023. The concert was attended by over 120 people and funds were raised for the Weldmar Hospice. Practice sessions are held locally away from the golf club and cost £6 with ‘termly’ payment encouraged.
